Consultancy
What is consultancy?
Are you looking for specialist input for your organisation?
Or could your existing knowledge and expertise help an external client solve an existing problem for a fee?
Then consultancy may be an ideal Knowledge Exchange pathway for you.
Consultancy is the provision of expert advice and services based on existing knowledge, without generating new research. At the ³Ô¹Ïtv, consultancy includes:
- Delivering a defined programme of work with clear outcomes and no research component
- Designing, testing, or evaluating products, services, or systems
- Advising external organisations using University-developed knowledge or processes
- Providing statistical analysis and reporting
- Giving paid presentations or writing for non-academic audiences
- Acting in a paid advisory capacity (via the University)
- Delivering specialist training or expert witness services
- Advising on technical issues
- Problem solving for businesses or other organisations
- Analysing products or materials
- Developing technology or processes
Projects require prior consideration of expertise, IP, confidentiality, deliverables, timelines, and fees. For University Consultancy a formal contract must be in place before any work begins.
If you are a University staff member and you want to explore how your expertise might be promoted for consultancy, please refer to the ³Ô¹Ïtv’s internal consultancy policy pages or get in touch with the Consultancy team within KEEP through consultancy@reading.ac.uk.
